Hon. Uko Umoh commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for introducing the Social Investment Programme and applauded Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for creating the enabling environment that ensured Etinan residents benefited from the initiative.

He noted that the inclusion of 3,725 beneficiaries from Etinan Local Government Area reflects government’s commitment to equitable, people-centred development and expressed optimism that the intervention would provide relief to many families.

The chairman also appreciated the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Conditional Cash Transfer implementation team for ensuring a transparent and seamless distribution process.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga, who represented Governor Umo Eno, said each approved beneficiary would receive a total of ₦75,000 in three tranches of ₦25,000 through the issued debit cards. She advised beneficiaries not to pay anyone to access the funds and urged them to remain vigilant against fraudsters.

One of the beneficiaries, Madam Ikoabasi Okon Tom from Etinan Urban 3, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and the Etinan Local Government Chairman for their roles in making the intervention a reality, praying for continued wisdom and success for the nation’s leaders.
